Dr. Giles created VHAB to help everyone change their habits If you were anything like me when I was struggling with my substance habit, you know asking for help can feel impossible. I knew I needed to stop, to change my ways, but on my own I kept failing. Once you are able to tell the truth about your drinking or drug use, it's much easier to change your habits. If you honestly keep track of your habits, and become part of a community moving in the same direction, you're certain to have a clearer sense of the role you want substances to play in your life. There is a lot of shame and stigma surrounding the use of chemicals to manage our feelings. Help me change that. Drug and alcohol use are habits. We're not diseased. We get into a routine of dealing with our fears and worries which sometimes develops its own momentum. We can change our habits if we can learn, be brave and help others.
